Once you identify the tunnel, it is the right time to lay down the trap. Cover it with soil to ensure that it can not be identified. Once your trap catches the intended gophers, remove them from the trap. You may use the dirt dug to bury the dead rodents. This will depend on the location of the mounds. In case they are close to your home, then you can decide to dig other holes in the garden and bury them. You will be free from them.

You need to remain patient and visit the sections you laid the traps severally. Check whether they are in good condition. You may manage to catch the gopher within the first few minutes or after several hours. This depends on the activities of the rodent. So, ensure each trap is in the right position.
