Looking At Square Cake Dummies

By Maria Roberts

When talking about baking, there is always a chance of doing it wrong. Whether it is because you are inexperienced or that you made one tiny mistake that costed the whole thing to blow over. To be honest, all you need is practice. A whole lot of trial and error comes into play too, especially if you are into decorating and designing. So for practice, try your hand on Square Cake Dummies.

They help with getting the hang of designing. Since they are not really made of actual dessert substance, it entirely is possible to go all the way with your creative mind when using it. And if you have more than one then all the better. Let your mind flow on whatever it actually is you want to happen on that pseudo cake.

Other people would use more than just one styro. They either stick them together on top of the other or maybe get them to sit next to each other to make a wider surface of decorating. Either way, the dummies are useful for those who want to practice their skills and art styles. Everyone has a different picture in mind after all.

Due to this, first timers fear to mess it up by the decorating. Indeed, even if everything went wrong and messed everything up, everything will still be edible. The same thing cannot be said when we use the dummies because those are made of Styrofoam. True, the fondant and icing are sweet and edible.

Speaking of fondants, they could go in any color too. Which is obvious, what with all the cake we have been seeing through all the years of living. They are overly sweet to eat too, given that it is made up entirely of refined sugar and glucose. Mixing those together would require a lot of elbow work.

With all the trials you did on dummies, you should have an idea of how the dessert will hold once you start your personal thing. Most of the time, since styrofoam can handle a bit of weight compared to cakes, your decorating may be able to handle it. Keep in mind that actual cakes cannot actually handle all that.

That is why it could get difficult by the way. Because once the fondant sticks with the wet surface, it can get a bit difficult to take it off if a mistake was done. The sugary clay would break and pieces of it will stay on the dummy. And if you put it on there again, bumps would appear over it because of the previous ones there.

Be careful still. There are those who have gone too far and broke their dummy because they did not know when to hold back. There is this liberating feeling when using it. Because you know that it can hold out AND be easily replace without wasting anything.

But then again, that is the reason it exists. It brings out the creativity of those willing to try. Someone has to start from somewhere, right?
