Where To Find The Best Online Job Posting

By Gary Allen

With all the different job and career sites now available, it can be difficult to decipher has the best online job posting. In addition, when looking for online jobs whether full-time or part-time, there are often a number of scams. So, whether looking for a job or online money making opportunity, it pays to research all companies and opportunities of interest.

For the career minded, sites like Dice, Indeed and Monster are often the best bets for finding higher paying career oriented positions. Whereas, sites like craigslist, SimplyHired and Yahoo Jobs are often better for jobs which pay minimum or just over minimum wage. If there is a local entertainment guide or newspaper in the area, most will host an online classified section which often includes a number of job listings.

While the internet has grown over time, some job oriented sites have disappeared. In most cases, it is because two or more sites have merged since first appearing online. In others, it is because the company or organization in charge of the website no longer exist. Still, with sites like CollegeRecruiter and other school related sites, many current and past graduates and students have still been able to find work.

When it comes to minorities, these individuals may want to peruse all the job sites possible including that of DiversifyJobs. For, while many employers appear to provide equal opportunity, it is often easy to give a variety of reasons for not hiring an individual. As such, by going through a job site dedicated to minorities, hopefully these individuals can find jobs more easily.

LinkedIn, while not actually a professional job board does offer some individual job postings. In addition, members can connect with contacts to learn of any open opportunities in various organizations. By using this service, individuals can often get first notice of any job openings at target companies. After which, the individual can connect with the contact to find out more about the position before filing an application for employment.

Two of the best smaller sites include SimplyHired and Indeed which offer a large number of job postings. One reason these sites have more postings than others is because the listings are provided through paid advertising. These sites and others often scout a number of others for various types of positions. The only problem with these sites is that listings often remain on the site long after having been filled.

Still, whether looking for a lifetime career or part-time job, these sites can often be beneficial in helping job seekers. Many of these organizations also provide tables at local job fairs. As such, it often pays to peruse local listings for career and job fairs as many employers often interview and hire on the spot at these events.

Some individuals have found that working at home can provide more freedom than a traditional job. In these cases, it is important that the individual is dedicated, dependable and can work well independently. Otherwise, these jobs can often be rather short-lived in comparison to traditional employment. There are also a number of scams when it comes to online and work-at-home jobs. As such, it often pays to vet companies carefully before signing up as an Independent Contractor or work-at-home employee.
