Many communication equipment is wireless and therefore propagate waves with electromagnetic waves through the Antennae especially the radio. So, RF test equipment applies both the use of electric and magnetic components which measure the strength of electric and magnetic fields respectively. Its waves are characterized by wavelength and frequency. Here are some of the applications.

It helps in saving space. The instruments do not need to contain all parts differently instead it is localized. For instance, RF instruments have some parts that can perform functions of other parts of the device. Therefore, significant space can be created if some main parts can perform functions of other peripheral devices such as a controller, can function on behalf of the power supply. For instance, Radar is used to serve a wide range of purposes.

In addition, this technology is used for industrial heating and sealing as well as radar. Industrial heaters generate RF radiations that are used to heat materials during processing. These materials have a variety of uses in the industries such as the sealing of items, molding of plastics, and food processing among other uses. Radar, on the other hand, is a device that used in the transmission of information such as air traffic to monitor aviation operations in the airport, it is applied by the military for monitoring their operations.

It uses RF energy which is used in hospitals for medical applications. Hospitals perform operations and x-rays that utilize the use of waves. For example when performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging use radio frequency waves to generate an image of the human body and also in the brain. This will enable the doctor to fully examine where there was a fracture or any defect on the body, especially where it becomes difficult to easily diagnose the disease.

It ensures that there is a continuous transmission of signals. This equipment applies the use of electromagnetic radiations which is not affected by any obstacle. It ensures that, even though there is variation in frequency, it does not affect those in another frequency. It, therefore, ensures that information or signals between the sender and receiver are not cut.

It can be used in hospitals for medical applications. This technology is applied in the manufacture of surgical instruments. If someone, has some fractures it is very difficult to locate the specific place of the fracture unless some surgery is done which uses electromagnetic radiations. Also, used for skin tightening by applying some cosmetics which aids in the process and MRI for taking images of the body. In addition, radiations are used for destroying body cancer cells in patients suffering from cancer.

Furthermore, it can be used to investigate overall problems with a signal in that, it enables the person seeing to note what the problem is. Using RF signals to act as proof that the eyes of the person using the equipment to fully investigate the challenge.

It ensures that signals are transmitted between the sender and receiver despite the distance. It is widely used by communication industry such as radio station, television stations. The receivers of the signals are widely spread with one source of information. Also used in satellite communication to send signals about space through the use of electromagnetic waves.
